Betty B still leading the team despite being blind.
This is Betty Boo. Betty came to us along with her brother Pirate at the end of October 2011. They were both a few months short of their 4th birthdays. Both she and her brother are near enough full brother and sister to Arko and Dancer and they share many traits. Betty likes to 'woo' at us like Dancer does, is very talkative and also very excitable. She is very responsive to us and extremely willing to please which makes her very easy to work with. She is a very beautiful girl and also very sweet. She is no problem in the pack and gets on with everyone, although she does love her brother. When she first arrived she was pretty uncertain about working in harness and very worried about it all. With lots of patience and going back to basics with her, she is now one of our hardest working dogs and will even lead. She is now so crazy about running in harness she has earned the name 'Betty Bonkers'. In 2015 Betty sadly developed glaucoma. This ended up in the removal of both of her eyes. She is an incredible dog and still runs in harness even though she is totally blind. You can read all about her on our blog.
